present the 2nd annual

Eastern Woodlands Design

What is the Peoples Harvest?
To the indigenous people, past and present, this time of year represents a time to harvest the blessings of Mother Earth. The bountiful gifts of the Earth would be shared amongst the "Peoples". The space chosen for our gathering and the surrounding area were once described as "the Peace Village". Here the People of the Abenaki, Mohawk, Narragansett, Nipmuc, and Pocomtuc tribes would gather each year, setting aside all rivalry and tribal issues to reap the benefits of the Earth collectively.  In keeping with this tradition we too wish to share with others the gifts the Native Peoples have to give. Our logo speaks of those gifts we wish to share: the Art, Music, Culture, and Community of the Native Peoples of the Northeastern Regions and beyond. This is our second annual presentation of this gathering and we want to share it with you. Come join us on the banks of the Connecticut River at Barton's Cove. There will be something for all ages.
